{"id":189,"date":"2014-03-16T09:58:21","date_gmt":"2014-03-16T09:58:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/parkwood.org\/blog\/?p=189"},"modified":"2015-03-03T18:45:59","modified_gmt":"2015-03-03T18:45:59","slug":"a-sabbath-pause-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/parkwood.dreamhosters.com\/blog\/a-sabbath-pause-2\/","title":{"rendered":"A Sabbath Pause #2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>&#8220;God saw all that He made, and it was very good.&#8221;<\/em> (Genesis 1:31)<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.&#8221;<\/em> (Genesis 2:7)<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother&#8217;s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.&#8221;<\/em> (Psalm 139:13-16)<\/p>\n<p>This is our second sabbath pause during the lenten season.\u00a0 The sabbath days are not counted in the 40 days of lent because they are days of worship (feast days).\u00a0 We pause today to reflect on why God would go to such great lengths to reconcile us to Himself.\u00a0 Why does He love us so much?<\/p>\n<p>The Scriptures above remind us that God created us from the very beginning.\u00a0 We were His masterpiece!\u00a0 He spoke light into being and commanded the land and waters to separate.\u00a0 But when He created mankind He got His hands dirty.\u00a0 We were hand made and then He breathed life into us.\u00a0 When He finished it all He stepped back and said&#8230;&#8221;very good&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p>So, when we chose our own way God began pursuing us to show us His love.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because He made us, loves us and wants a relationship with us.\u00a0 King David reminds us that God&#8217;s involvement in the creation of mankind has continued.\u00a0 We are each &#8220;knit&#8221; together&#8230;God&#8217;s handiwork.\u00a0 God did not create the world and walk away.\u00a0 He is creating all around us and, more importantly, He created you.\u00a0 He created you with a purpose in His Kingdom.\u00a0 You are &#8220;ordained&#8221; to be!\u00a0 He loves you and He came to earth to suffer and die so that you could live and have fellowship with Him.\u00a0 Jesus said:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full&#8221;<\/em>.
