He is Risen!

“On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!'” (Luke 24:1-6)

This is it!  Everything prophesied had come true and now it was validated and confirmed by the empty tomb!  Death was the insurmountable obstacle that stood between us and our eternal destiny ordained by our creator.  We were dead in our sins and now, Jesus had taken our death upon Himself and buried it in it’s final resting place.  He has left it buried in the cold empty tomb and He has risen.

Here is the amazing…unbelievable truth…if His death is ours…His resurrection is ours also!  The Scripture tells us that we merely need to identify with His death by accepting it as our own and identifying with His resurrection by allowing Him to live His life through us.  If He has freed us from the bondage of our death by dying for us then we can experience eternal life by identifying with His resurrection.  The empty tomb is proof that there is more than just forgiveness of the sin that condemns us, there is abundant life.

Therefore, we are celebrating more than the resurrection of our Savior today.  We are celebrating our own resurrection in Christ!  He is risen and, by grace through faith, you have too!
